What is the GHLA?

The Global Hearing Loss Alliance was established through the collaborative efforts of various hearing loss groups and lists which worked together to start a mutually supportive endeavor. Ultimately, the GHLA is an organization that grew out of needs not being met. Resources were scattered, services were not offered that should be, but most importantly, there was a lack of unity among the online hearing loss community.

By supplying descriptions of the various lists and groups, it is our intention to provide a wide variety of choices. It is our belief that no one list or group can adequately meet the needs of all. Only by forming this alliance of groups can we truly assist each visitor in finding an appropriate niche.

Out of the various groups and lists that gave rise to the GHLA, each one is managed by its creator or owner. Owners recruit members for their respective lists and work with the members of their own lists as they see fit. The list managers or owners discuss mutual concerns and issues. The website is maintained through the support of the lists and the work of volunteers.

The GHLA uses this website as a place to gather resources and build a social network that everyone can benefit from.
